This week we received some new tools from a company specializing in small tools. Micro-mark.com is full of solutions for model making and miniatures.
The first item we got is a soldering tweezer with a built-in stand. The fiber handles insulate from heat while the stand keeps the parts off the work surface. We are going to try this for soldering connectors onto 4 conductor cables.
The other tools are for dealing with small nuts and screws. They would have been handy when we were installing wifi cards in the old Mac Pro cases. Basically, all these tools hold a nut or screw in place and allow you to start them. How many times have you dropped a tiny screw working on a motherboard?
